It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Dear Prayer Friend,
How time flies! The first term of university is over, and Christmas is just around
the corner! This past term has been so great, and we have seen God moving
on our campus.
We've been up to quite a lot this term! We had an outreach event called Dial-
A-Donut where people texted in questions they had and we went out in groups
to answer them and supply a free donut! With it being the first time, we were
nervous to see how it would go, but we had some great questions and
conversations and we're praying that those seeds continue to flourish and
grow! Through our promise auction, we managed to raise a collective of
£1000! This is such an answer to prayer, and we're so grateful for all your
support and prayers. If you feel called to support us financially, our details are
at the bottom of the email. As we don't receive any money from the university,
it is generosity that helps us run things on campus like next year's Events Week
(more on that in a future letter!).
Just before we broke up for Christmas, we had our carol service as we do
each year, and it was amazing to see the great turnout! It was an incredible
service put together by the CU, and we were so encouraged by the number offriends, coursemates and flatmates that turned up. We are continually
praying for those in our university circles who feel encouraged to come
to our events. We pray that God continues to open their hearts, and that they
see the glorious gift that is Jesus!
Our last CU meeting of this term was our Prayer and Praise night, which was a
wonderful time to reflect on what God has done for us this term. We prayed
over the people we've met this term, and thought over how we can continue
to support them and be a light to them, and we also hung our thanks on a
Christmas tree. It was so encouraging to walk around, reading how God has
changed our lives over the last few months.
We pray that as we break for Christmas, we have the chances to revive
ourselves, both mentally and spiritually before the next term. With
Events Week at the end of January, and committee handover not long after
that, the Spring Term can be hectic. Please continue to pray over us as a CU as
we plan and organise future events, as well for us as individuals that we may
continue to grow confident in Christ and the hope He has given us this
season.
Wishing you all a very merry Christmas, and we'll see you in the New Year! Bring
on 2023!
Yours in Christ,
Rūta at RUCU
